Bespoke Angled Bathroom Door Replacement

This commercial bathroom door had to be forced open after a customer became locked inside, causing significant damage around the lock and leaving the door insecure.

Because of the unusual angled opening, a standard replacement could not be used. A new bespoke door was manufactured to the exact shape required, carefully fitted within the existing frame and equipped with the appropriate ironmongery. The completed door was adjusted and tested to ensure it opened, closed and locked correctly before being returned to service.

Meet Tom, a Time-Served Joiner in Lancaster

15 Years of Carpentry and Joinery Experience

I'm Tom, the joiner behind APEX Joinery. I was born and raised in Lancaster and have worked as a time-served carpenter for 15 years, completing domestic and commercial projects across Lancaster and the surrounding area.

My work ranges from fitted kitchens, flooring and internal doors to bespoke storage, fire doors, timber repairs and unusual made-to-measure jobs. The recent projects above show the variety of properties I work in, including family homes, apartments, student accommodation, local businesses, static caravans and traditional properties.

I believe good joinery begins with understanding what the customer needs and what the existing property will allow. That means measuring carefully, recommending repair where it is sensible, producing bespoke components when standard products will not fit and checking the completed work for correct operation and finish.

APEX Joinery provides straightforward advice and clear quotations before work is booked. If you have photographs, measurements or an idea you would like to discuss, get in touch and I can advise on the most suitable next step.

Frequently Asked Questions About Joinery in Lancaster

Answers to common questions about quotations, bespoke work, repairs, kitchens, doors, flooring and the areas covered by APEX Joinery.

What joinery services do you provide in Lancaster?

APEX Joinery fits kitchens, worktops, internal and external doors, FD30 fire doors, laminate and herringbone flooring, bespoke storage, skirting, architraves and other finishing joinery. The service also covers timber window repairs, damaged floors, commercial repairs and made-to-measure work.

Can you make bespoke joinery for an awkward space?

Yes. Bespoke work is measured and made to suit the available opening rather than forcing a standard product into the space. Recent examples include handleless understairs storage and an angled commercial bathroom door manufactured to fit an unusual existing frame.

Do you fit complete kitchens and replacement worktops?

Yes. Kitchen fitting can include units, appliance housings, trims and worktops. APEX Joinery has experience fitting laminate and solid timber worktops and completing accurate cut-outs around sinks, hobs and other fixed features.

Do you supply and fit FD30 fire doors?

Yes. A full supply-and-fit service is available for FD30 fire doors, with installations carried out by an approved installer. The correct door, frame, seals, hinges, closer and other ironmongery depend on the opening and the required fire-door specification, so the property should be assessed before quotation.

Can rotten timber be repaired instead of replaced?

Often it can, provided enough sound timber remains and a repair is appropriate. Timber splicing and specialist resin techniques can be used for some sash windows, frames and localised areas of decay. The damaged area needs to be inspected before deciding whether repair or replacement offers the better long-term result.

Do you undertake both domestic and commercial joinery?

Yes. Work is completed for homeowners, landlords and businesses, as well as student accommodation, apartments, static caravans and managed properties. Commercial projects can include fire doors, bespoke replacements and repairs required to return an area to safe working use.

Which areas do you cover?

APEX Joinery is based in Lancaster and works throughout the city and surrounding locations, including Morecambe, Heysham, Carnforth, Caton, Warton, Bolton-le-Sands, Hest Bank and nearby villages. If your location is not listed, contact APEX to check availability.

How do I request a joinery quotation?

Call 07743 477 374, email tom@apex-locksmith.co.uk or use the enquiry form on this page. Photographs, approximate measurements and a short description are helpful, although some projects will require a site visit before an accurate quotation can be provided.

How soon can the work be completed?

Timescales depend on the size of the project, material availability and whether any items need to be manufactured to measure. Once the work has been assessed, APEX Joinery can explain the likely schedule and current availability before you confirm the booking.
